About Media Centre

This media centre is designed to make the process of finding and using information about stories at Dalhousie University as easy as possible. We have broken down story elements into component parts so no matter where you are based, you can download visual or story elements as needed. We will also archive all photo, audio and video elements with easy access to this growing library.

Downloadable images and video:

On most story spotlights high-resolution images are available for download (300 dpi)

In some cases high-resolution broadcast-quality video is available for download (1080p Quicktime .mov)

We welcome comments and feedback on the centre to grow this resource to better suit your needs. Content is generated by members of Dalhousie's Media Team:

Bruce Bottomley Visual Curator; Web Content Producer; Videographer;

Having spent many of his years abroad, Bruce has returned to his childhood home of Halifax. His position here at Dalhousie has allowed him to "focus" on his passion of visual arts and all things world wide web. A large part of his life is spent in front of monitors editing various elements of Dalhousie's online initiatives.
Bruce feels privileged to be able to create videos that highlight the people and stories that reflect the diverse community and voices here at the university.

Nikki Comeau - Communications Officer; Media liasion

Nikki's job is to make your job easier. She manages the Experts@Dal website, so when you need an subject expert to help tell your story, she'll help you find one. In between media requests and coordinating interviews, she writes for Dal News and is involved in various other communications activities with the university. Before Dalhousie, she worked with MT&L Public Relations, Newcap Radio and Journeyman Film Company.

Erin Stewart - Communications Officer; Blogger liaison

Erin manages Dalhousie’s social media presence, working in collaboration with the university community to amplify the on-campus  experience. She also serves as blogger liaison, helping to ensure connections are made and stories are told. Prior to joining the  Communications and Marketing team at Dalhousie, Erin called Toronto home, helping to build  brand loyalty on behalf of Coca-Cola,  Ben & Jerry’s and AXE at Harbinger Communications. Erin’s future aspirations include learning to play guitar, building (and filling) a wine cellar and owning a room with walls lined entirely with books, a comfortable chair and no television.
